In Wisconsin, winter fog is common in late January and early February during a warm spell. In a recent winter, consecutive foggy days produced an abundant hoarfrost coat on everything. Most unique are the hoarfrost "petals" on the seed heads of Queen Ann's lace, bergamot, thistle and coneflower.
