WISCONSIN
- Hoarfrost
|
|
In
Wisconsin, winter fog is common in late January and early February during
a warm spell. In a recent winter, consecutive foggy days produced an
abundant hoarfrost coat on everything. Most unique are the hoarfrost
"petals" on the seed heads of Queen Ann's lace, bergamot,
thistle and coneflower. Except for the two showing pine needles, all
images are from Elver Park on the southwest side of Madison, Wisconsin.
